Week 12 Wrap-Up

Eagles Fall
On Sunday the Eagles fell to the Bears 26-31. I'm not surprised by this loss but I don't think it's the end of the world for Philly. I hate to say it but Philly needed this loss. The MNF high has finally worn off and now it's back to reality for Eagles. Check your NFL Parity Clocks folks because on any given Sunday, Monday or Thursday a team can go down. Hopefully Philly can pick up a win against a dangerous Texans team. Two loses this late in the season could send the Eagles packing early.

Manning Losing His Cool
Peyton Manning was intercepted four times when the Colts hosted the San Diego Charges on Sunday Night Football. This loss comes at a bad time for the Colts who are 6-5 and 1/2 game behind the AFC South leading Jaguars. It's not time to press the panic button just yet but Indy is in big trouble if Manning can't pull things together soon. The Colts host Dallas next week and play three division games in the last quarter of the season. Should I dare say that the Colts might miss the playoffs?

Team Andre
Cortland Finnegan and Andre Johnson were both fined $25,000 for their scuffle on Sunday. Neither player was suspended which is great news for Andre Johnson and the Texans who fly into Philly Thursday night for a date with Starship 7. I, however have a major problem with Cortland Finnegan. He clearly initiated the fight and was even seen clapping after Andre Johnson started punching him. Finnegan was clearly getting burned by Johnson on the field so he decided to engage in silly antics. I don't condone violence but I'm siding with Andre Johnson on this one. I hope Finnegan can do his job and get his life together. Good luck making the playoffs...

McDaniels Next On Chopping Block
?
The Broncos are 3-8 but owner Pat Bowlen insists that he's not ready to fire Denver coach Josh McDaniels. I find this very hard to believe and I know a lot people agree with me. We've seen this before time and time again—Phillips, Childress and now maybe McDaniels. I may be wrong but Mini Spygate isn't helping McDaniels case. He'll probably make it to the end of the season but there are no guarantees in football.

Monday Night Meltdown Part II

It must be hot in the desert because the Cardinals can't keep their cool on Monday nights. Derek Anderson must be taking notes from former Cardinals coach Dennis Green because he had quite a meltdown yesterday. I guess the Cardinals are who we thought they were. Let's take a look shall we?

Week 11 Roundup

Childress Gets Canned
Earlier today the Minnesota Vikings fired Brad Childress and appointed Leslie Frazier as their interim head coach. This this isn't much of a surprise for most of us, what's surprising is that it took so long for Ziggy to fire Brad Childress. Chilly wasn't a fan favorite and didn't have the backing of his players. He should have been fired before Wade Phillips. Childress waived Randy Moss less than month after the Viks acquired him from the Patriots. On top of that he failed to notify Ziggy Wilf. This seems ludicrous to me, but Childress is gone and the Vikings season can only go up from here.

Someone needs to pull Favre next. Must I point out that Favre's magic only works every other year (2007 Packers reach the NFC Championship Game, 2008-Jets fail to make the playoffs, 2009 Vikings reach NFC Championship game, 2010 Vikings are 3-7). Paging Tavaris Jackson, Mr. Jackson?

Unstoppable Eagles?
The Eagles were able to sneak past the Giants on Sunday Night Football and while a win is a win, the Giants showed the rest of the world that Starship 7 & Crew can be beaten. Philly ran the ball well but their receivers seemed to be a little bit off.Mike Vick was forced to his right side and seemed a little flustered at times. The Giants Defense but up a great fight and Justin Tuck's forced fumble put the Giants in position to beat the Eagles. Philly's run game was too much for the G-Men in the end but this NFC North battle is not over yet. Mark December 19th on your calendars folks!

Holmes at Home
The Cardiac Jets have been keeping fans on the edge of their seats for the past three weeks. This Sunday at the Meadowlands Mr. Sanchez lead the Jets to another nail-biting victory with under a minute left on the clock. The hero of the game was former Super Bowl XLIII MVP Santonio Holmes. The veteran wide receiver caught a 6 yard touchdown pass from Sanchez with just 10 seconds left on the clock to end the Texans' comeback. The Jets are flying high this season and I'm sure this isn't the last we'll see of Mr. Holmes

How About Dem Falcons?
Mike Vick may be helping his team out without even realizing it. Philly is now the team to beat in the NFC. Everyone has their eyes on Vick as the Falcons continue to fly under the radar. Atlanta is 8-2 and in the perfect position to win the NFC South. If things continue to go well I could see the Falcons playing the Eagles for the NFC Championship Game.--Battle of the Birds Part II. The Eagles beat the Falcon earlier this season with an impressive 37-17 win. I would love to see Vick play his old team for a chance to go to the Super Bowl.

False Alarm
I was pretty bummed about the Saints last minute decision to rule Mr. Bush inactive for the Saints-Seahawks game. It's always nice to see such a gorgeous man on the football field but I'm sure that Mr. Bush will grace us with his presence just in time for the holiday season.

It's On Folks!

Our favorite hottie is coming back to grace us with his presence. Reggie Bush is expected to play on Sunday when the Saints play Seattle.

Wade in the Chilly Water

Who gets fired first? Wade Phillips or Brad Childress?

My bets are on Wade Phillips. I have a feeling that Jerry Jones is breaking ties with Mr. Phillips at this very moment. Only time will tell.

Update: Wade Phillips has been fired. Shocking.

The Vets

Moss Gets the Boot

Randy Moss' attitude must be pretty bad because the Viks have given him the boot. He reportedly lashed out at the restaurant owners who catered the team's post-practice meal. So was it a good idea for the struggling Viks to cut Mr. Moss? I'm somewhat on the fence with this one. I'm not surprised by Moss' behavior but the man still has something left in the tank (I'm sure Darrelle Revis can attest to that). Well, it's on to the next one for Mr. Moss. Randy won't be unemployed for too long. I'm sure some lucky team will pick him up.

Update: ESPN is reporting that the Tennessee Titans have claimed Randy Moss

Old Man Favre

I respect Favre as a quarterback but he just needs to give it up already. It may be fun and games now, but in about 2-5 years he'll need assistance to walk up the stairs. The adrenaline kicks in now but I assure you that Favre will retire in 2011, regardless of the final outcome of this season. His body just can't take anymore hits. I still don't know how Favre does it but it's all going to catch up with him. Hide your walkers, hide your pain killers because Old Man Favre is coming.

McNabb Benched

McNabb benched? Really? I'm scratching my head with this one because the Redskins are at .500, just one game behind Philly in the NFC East. They can still make the playoffs if they put in the work for the second half of the season. I really don't know what's going on and I guess a few people at Redskins camp are confused too. Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan told reporters that McNabb was warned in advanced about the possibility of being pulled from the game. This message never made it to McNabb and I'm pretty sure he's pissed about it...and so the saga continues. Let's not forget about the JaMarcus Russell tryout. Again I'm scratching my head, because JaMarcus Russell and McNabb are not on the same level by any means. McNabb will always be known as a legendary quarterback, JaMarcus Russell not so much.

Just for the Ladies

The Pass Him Over Here Hottie of the Week.
Matt Moore, QB Carolina # 3

Carolina can now add a game to their win column thanks to this man. I hope Mr. Moore keeps the momentum going...

It's a "Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy" Situation

It's Over Folks
Maybe we should try to save the Cowboys instead, whose with me? It may take something just short of a miracle to save Kitna & Crew but I'll still try to keep the faith. Right? Wrong. I hope people are ready to face reality because the Cowboys are 6 feet underground. I guess America's Team will have to wait until next year. Cowboy fans can grab a seat right next to me and the rest of the Cubbie Nation. But such is life, the Cowboys will be back on top one of these days.

"Free Rides" Cost Money
Sacre bleu! "Free rides" actually cost money. A recent study held by Ithaca College and a national athletes advocacy group revealed that "full ride" scholarships for student athletes don't cover all school expenses. Well isn't this interesting. You always pay for things one way or another but I'm a little surprised by some of these out-of pocket expenses. $11,000 really? $5,000 even? I guess we know why so many of these kids secretly take money and exit school early to go pro. I wonder if the Reggie Bush scandal was the impetus for this study. Your thoughts?

The Situation
In other football news Joe Flacco has decided to get a Jersey Shore makeover. Flacco's new haircut is pretty wild but the kid can play football so I'm not complaining. Fist Pumps all around.

Hottie of the Week

Rams WR Danario Alexander # 84

He's such a cutie! Look at those arms too. It's always nice to see a rookie step up to the plate. Go Rams!?! I do love St. Louis( the city that is) but I'm not jumping on any bandwagons. Sorry.

Boys, Girls & the Comeback Kid

I didn't get a chance to post last week so here's some food for thought....

This season has been quite interesting. No one has really stood out from the pack but all of that could change once the weather gets crappy. Not to say that there aren't any Super Bowl contenders but a lot can happen between now and January 2nd. If I had to choose two teams today however, I would pick the Steelers and the Eagles. The Steelers are on fire right now and with Big Ben back Pittsburgh is bound to runaway with the division. In the NFC the Eagles are rumbling and bumbling. Philly has been a dominant team in NFC for the last decade and this may be the year that they finally make it to the promise land. Andy Reid is a phenomenal coach and I believe that his hard work will pay off.

L.T. Resurgence

It's always great to see a player come back to form. LaDainian Tomlinson is one of the greatest running backs of our time and he's found new life in the Big Apple. I was upset when the Jets traded my future husband Thomas Jones but acquiring L.T. was probably the best move they made this off season. I hope L.T. continues to have a great year and I'm also glad that he's on one of my fantasy football teams.

Boys Not Men

I'm sorry but the Cowboys just need to throw in the towel. I love Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Tony Romo but I find it hard to believe that the 'Boys will defy all odds and makes the playoffs. Old age must be getting to Jerry Jones because a playoff run at this stage of the games seems nearly impossible. I still don't understand why people are riding high on the Cowboys. How many more games do they have to lose before people start opening their eyes? The team has great talent but they have one game in the win column and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that they suck. Hell, if the Cowboys make it to the playoffs I'll buy Dez Bryant dinner. We may be going to McDonald's because I'm not rolling in dough but a promise is a promise.

Girls Night Out

On Wednesday, October 27, 2010 the Chicago Bears will be hosting Football 101, a fun event designed to teach women about the game of football. The event will be held at Soldier Field and includes a locker room tour, an autograph session, a light dinner, a Q&A session and a special gift. General admission tickets go for $6o. If you're in the Chicago area and would love to learn more about the game of football come on down to the party. For more info please visit chicagobears.com/events/football_101.asp

Well that's all for today Pink Cleat Faithfuls. I can't believe it's hump day already.

Fashion, Football & the Return of Pink Cleats

Football isn't just for the guys anymore. The NFL is investing a lot of money on a new marketing campaign aimed at female football fans. In August the NFL launched its first boutique shop for women in New Orleans. Now the League has a new website nfl.com/women just for female football fans. Some of the cool features on the site include a Look Book and a Strut Your Fit contest for female fans who want to show off their killer NFL runway style. The NFL's $10 million marketing campaign also includes television commercials targeted at women.

The campaign must be going well so far. I see women wearing football apparel left and right. A few weeks back, I blogged about Victoria Secrets PINK NFL Collection but today I was surprised to find NFL t-shirts for women at Old Navy. So it's official, we're taking over. Move over boys, Sunday afternoons are our time to shine.

On a more serious note we must not forget about the NFL's "A Crucial Catch" Campaign. This weekend NFL players and coaches wore pink apparel in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. All of the pink apparel worn this month will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society and team charities.

And so the pink cleats return. It's going to be a great month for football....
Good night PC Faithfuls, until next time.

The Hotties and the Notties

Who's Hot?

Philadelphia Eagles-Sometimes it's just good to go with your gut. Andy Reid made a tough decision this week and it paid off. Mike Vick had four touchdown against the Jags and things are rolling in Philly.

Kansas City Chiefs-Where did these guys come from? I have been asking myself this question all day. It's only week three and there is plenty of time left for a mid-season collapse but I'm still prematurely jumping on the Chiefs bandwagon. I hope no one is surprised. TJ is on the team so nothing can go wrong.

New York Jets-The Jets' season started off pretty rocky but after an exciting Sunday Night win over the Dolphins the Sanchize is finally back on top. I was somewhat critical of the Jets after week one and I'm glad the Gang Green has stepped up to the plate. The AFC East is one hell of a division so they can't celebrate this win over Miami for too long but it was great win nonetheless. BTW I must applaud Braylon Edwards for stepping up to the plate today despite having a crazy week.

The Pittsburgh Steelers-I've always liked the Steelers but I'm a little surprised by their record right now. I predicted that Cincinnati or Baltimore would take the division but the Steelers are flying high without Big Ben. I guess the Steelers don't have six Super Bowl rings for nothing right? Shouts out to Charlie Batch!

Who's Not?

Washington Redskins-The Skins have to do better or it's going to be a long season for Mr. McNabb and Company. The Skins were 1- 10 on third downs and 0-3 in the red zone against the Rams. This is unacceptable. Washington has way too much talent to let it just waste away.

Carolina Panthers-So about that quarterback. The Panthers need to get their team together quickly because things are about to get pretty ugly. They go down to the Big Easy next week and if they drop this game it will be pretty easy for me to write them off. It's a really unfortunate situation because Steve Smith is so talented and super sexy I must add. Shame eh? Well what can you do? The NFC South has always been a tough division. C'est la vie.

New York Giants-Where do I begin....I stopped watching the Manning Bowl Part 2 after the first half and the giants just looked awful today against Tennessee. The Giants need the Staples Easy button asap. The can't be out-shined by the Jets? Or can they?

Hot Men in Tights

After talking with my ex-boyfriend about my craptastic fantasy football team (NY League), my cousin comes up to me as says "This is what I get from football--hot men in tights, the end." I've clearly taught this girl well because if you're a female football fan that's all you need to know. Am I right? OK there are a few other things you need to know but it's always nice to go back to the basics.

And a few teams in the NFL might want to go back to basics. I'm not talking about tights anymore but it seems as Mr. Favre has his pants on the ground. 3 INTs this week -yikes. This was not the year to come back to the NFL. Favre and the Viks are pretty much doomed without Sidney Rice. I must say though that Shaincoe is stepping it up but Berrian just needs to be benched.

Enough about the Viks onto the Cowboys. It's time to press the panic button like now. Correction the Cowboys should have punched the panic button last week. There is still some light at the end of the tunnel. Austin has been solid for the past two weeks. I guess you don't need Kim K to perform at the high level?

Speaking of Kim K ex-beaus, Mr. Bush is out for 6 weeks. I'm glad Reggie has a Super Bowl ring because this season can't get any worst.

Well goodnight Pink Cleats Faithfuls. Checkout the QLs and Favre's "Pants On the Ground" vid.

My Reggie Rant

I wish someone would just give Reggie Bush a break. I feel as if there is a big bull's-eye on this kid's back. In all honestly,Reggie should keep the Heisman trophy. I know that it was Reggie's decision to forfeit the trophy and I respect his decision but I'm sure there were a few people whispering in his ear. Rules are rules but this is just ridiculous. Reggie made a mistake but he had good intentions. Furthermore, he was an excellent athlete at USC and that alone is enough reason for him to keep the trophy.

The Pass Him Over Here Hottie of the Week

And the award goes to......Dexter McCluster #22. He had a 94 yrd punt return for a touchdown on Monday night and I'm really loving this bad boy look. Love the dreads as well. He's no AP by any means but still very sexy in his own way. Yummy

Week One Surprises

Hold on to Your Hats
How about dem Cowboys eh? It looks as if Wade Phillips has some work to do in Dallas. The Cowboys looked awful yesterday but thankfully for them there are still fifteen games left in the season. The Cowboys play my beloved Bears for their home opener and things should get a little bit interesting. The Bears didn't play their best football this week either but were able to edge out the Lions after a controversial call. Many Chicago fans were treating the game like a loss but a win is a win in my book.

Just for the record Forte is back. 151 receiving yards-- Say What? He's 100 percent this season so Dallas better bring the D or it's going to be a long season for Jerry Jones crew

Sign of the Times
The tide is turning in the AFC. The Texans ran all over Indy this weekend and may finally get over the hump this year. The Chiefs also made quite a statement after defeating the Chargers on MNF. I'm not too worried about San Diego because they usually start off their season pretty slow but I'm really happy for the Chiefs and my future husband T. Jones. I hope the Chiefs keep the momentum going. I love it when things get a little unpredictable in the NFL.

What Franchise ?
Things are not looking good for Rex Ryan's crew. The Jets only had 176 total offensive yards against Baltimore and next week thet have to play the Pats. The Patriots aren't looking to shabby this year and it seems as if Brady was unfazed by his recent car accident. All I know is that the Jets need to really step things up. The season has just begun but I'm not convinced the Jets can make a legitimate playoff run. I guess time will only tell.

The Jets also seem to be having some off the field troubles as well. I guess they missed the NFL's "Back to Football" memo.

Bringing Sexy Back

T-minus 4 days until I get to see this handsome man play on the football field. You would think that I'm a Vikings fan but I'd like to consider myself an in-the-closet Adrian Peterson junky. I will be a Bears fan for life. I bleed blue (Bear & Cubbie blue) but every time I see Adrian Peterson without his Vikings uniform on my heart skips a beat.

Speaking of Adrian Peterson, where are the NFL Fantasy & Nike Pro Combat commercials? I need my daily dose of Adrian ASAP.

Well that's all for tonight folks. I'm going to get some shut-eye so I can watch college football tomorrow. Cheers Pink Cleats Faithfuls.

Ready,Set,Fire!

Mr. Ochocinco wants to start off the new NFL season with a big bang. Chad has his eye on New England's Minutemen and is determined to take center stage at the Bengal's season-opener against the Patriots . Chad wants to fire the Minutemen rifle if he scores against the Patriots. I personally find this very amusing. If Chad can pull this one off it would be quite a stunt. The Commissioner might fine him but I'm sure another 25k won't hurt his pockets too much. I really encourage him to go for it actually. I thought his Lambeau leap was brilliant and true to form. I'm all about this kid's celebrations. I loved his HOF Jacket, his sombrero and his failed River Dance attempt. Chad just likes to have fun with things and it brings a little something extra to the game.

I know there are a lot of Steeler fans groaning somewhere right now but Chad's a smart guy who does his job well. It would be different if he was crappy receiver. Besides Chad's setting himself up for the future. People may hate his hollywood-style antics but in the end Chad is making money and will be able to establish a successful career after he retires from the NFL. It doesn't matter if you love Chad or love to hate Chad, he will always be a great entertainer who makes the gameday expereince a bit more interesting. Get your prophylactics ready for Sep.12th becuase no one turns down a big bang. Paging Dr. Russell? Dr. Russell?

PINK Loves the NFL

Victoria Secret's PINK has a new NFL Collection and I'm super excited. The Bears Scoopneck Tee, Bling Pullover Hoodie and Hipster Knickers (Panties) are definitely on my wish list. Bravo to the creative minds over at Vicky S. I've always loved PINK but this is by far the best thing they've done to date. The one big catch is that there are only 13 teams represented. No team from the NFC West or the AFC South made the cut; however, all of the teams from the NFC East are represented. Fans snubbed by PINK can still go to the NFL Shop online and I would highly recommend visiting the site because they have some great items available. My favorite item is a maternity shirt that says “Kicker”. I would buy this shirt in a heartbeat but I’m not pregnant so it wouldn’t quite work out. Hopefully they'll keep the shirt around for a few more years.

Well that’s all for today folks. Good Luck with your fantasy football drafts. I have two that I am not prepared for at all but hopefully I can pull things together by tomorrow.
